Examples of 3 different shows performed in the 19th C. or how one might produce plays today by setting them in the 19th C.? If the former, the Folger Shakespeare library in Washington, D.C. or the RSC library in Stratford could help. If the latter, you can look at the social and political history of Italy in the 19th C. There were amazing literary movements, not to mention clothing style changes, so you'd have a lot to work with. Late Enlightenment era to Napoleonic wars to Industrial Revolution to Italy's unification. Best of luck!
